My story

"Hi I am Ghost! I am 6 month old Great Pryrenees/Maremma Sheepdog mix according to my DNA test. I’m already 55lbs, so I am going to be a BIG boy when I am fully grown. I am a goofy, clumsy, and playful pup who loves other dogs and people. Meeting new people is one of my favorite things! I am crate trained and housebroken and even know a couple commands! Food really motivates me and ice cubes are so exciting to get! I follow my foster humans to the fridge everytime to see if I can get one. I love car rides and I just lie down in the back and chill out. I also walk beautifully on leash, though I will bark when I see other people or dogs cause I am just so excited, but my foster mom is working with me on that. Remember, I am still a young pup and am growing and learning every day! Oh and toys….man, do I love toys! Stuffed toys, chew toys, tug toys, rope toys, bone toys–you name it, I love it! I empty out my toy basket daily to play with them all. Playing tug-o-war with my foster humans or my foster dog brothers is so much fun! Fetch is also super fun! Frisbee? Yup…that too. True to my guardian breeds, I can be stubborn and strong willed sometimes and will need my forever family to have some experience with breeds like mine. I need a confident human leader to help guide me and who also has room for me outside to be a dog and do my doggy things. They would also need to accept a couple quirks I have (eating by myself, trading treats for something I shouldn’t have), but don’t worry, my foster mom knows how to successfully manage them and will tell you. I would love my family to have another large dog like me that likes to play and one who can correct me when needed. I take corrections from confident dogs beautifully. Submissive playmates need not apply. Oh, did I mention I am a Pry/Maremma mix? Yah…so I do bark at the things I see and of course, the things no one can see. 😉 No apartment life for me! I do most of my barking outside however. I am actually pretty quiet in the house. And digging…sometimes I do that–I know, I know, its not a great trait but again I am a puppy and well, its literally in my DNA. I am always looking for a cooler place to lie down. My love for people is strong, but I am not a cuddler and prefer my personal space on a cool floor in the same room as you. I would make a great companion, hiking partner (when it is cool out), and family member. I am being fostered in Castle Rock." Ghost is being fostered in Castle Rock, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/ghost/.
