My story

Lilly Ann came to us after someone’s ring camera went off to a person literally throwing a dog onto their porch. The family was nice enough to take Lilly Ann in and find a rescue for her. Lilly Ann had a HUGE hernia and a few bad teeth. We had her spayed, attempted the hernia repair and a dental. It appears her hernia has opened up again some but is much smaller. Lilly Ann did not do very well under anesthesia, so we are choosing to not go back in to try and repair the hernia a second time. This is an inguinal hernia. She has probably had it her entire life and it is now a quarter of the size it was (photo below) She is sweet , apx 8 years young and 6.8 pounds. Shy , loving, a little timid. She sometimes scream when you go to pick her up , she is just scared, but if you kind of let her crawl in your lap then pick her up, or if you use a blanket to pick her up, she is fine. Lilly Ann is super quiet, a total lap dog, very low key and easy peasy. Has good potty manners here at the rescue or will also use wee pads . She is super shy for a few days getting to know a new person and place, she may pant or pace a bit but I promise she will acclimate and get comfortable. She is now always want to be pet and picked up by us, she is very cuddly once she gets to know you and that does not take long. She is great with cats and dogs , and we think she would be fine with children as visitors, but we do not believe Lily Anne would want to live with hyper children or hyper young dogs full-time. She is a very gentle calm soul. LILY ANNE is ready for a family who will love and keep her safe. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt.
