My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:7Zuma – The Playful Go-Getter Zuma is a 2-year-old, 55-pound American Pit Bull Terrier with a heart full of energy and enthusiasm for life. This young guy loves attention, playtime, and showing off the basics he knows—like sit and down—especially when treats are involved. His joyful, puppy-like excitement makes him a fun companion, and with continued training, he’ll blossom into an even more well-mannered partner. Smart and treat-motivated: Knows sit and down, and often offers an adorable “auto-sit” to speed up treat time. Affectionate and silly: Leans in hard affectionately for pets, sometimes so much that he may nearly topples you over, and delights in zoomies when he’s excited. Eager learner: Attentive and engaged, though his enthusiasm can make him jumpy or mouthy—something he’s improving with redirection and practice. Active walking buddy: Pulls moderately on leash, but responds well to redirection cues. Zuma’s combination of playfulness and eagerness makes him an ideal match for an adopter who enjoys training and activity, and who appreciates a dog with a big personality. He would love to be placed with appropriately matched dog friends or as a cherished solo dog soaking up all the love and guidance he deserves.September 19, 2025, 10:36 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Zuma, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
