My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog I:6Nino – The Easygoing Wanderer Nino is a 9-year-old Labrador Retriever / German Shepherd gentleman weighing 80 pounds, and he carries himself with the quiet dignity of a seasoned soul. At first, he may seem a little hesitant and independent, preferring to take his time exploring and sniffing his surroundings, but with patience and kindness, his soft, affectionate side begins to shine. Easygoing walker: While he tends to wander here and there on leash, he’s easy to handle and simply needs a little gentle guidance to stay on track. Independent but sweet: Content to sniff and explore on his own, yet he’ll lean in for pets once he feels comfortable. Calm demeanor: Takes new experiences in stride, even when feeling a little tense, and adapts with quiet resilience. Polite with other dogs: Often wags his tail calmly when approached by a well-mannered canine friend, showing his easygoing nature. Nino may not ask for constant attention, but he clearly appreciates gentle affection and the steady presence of a kind human. With a patient adopter who gives him space to adjust, Nino will make a loyal, loving companion. He’d do well with appropriately matched dogs or as a cherished solo dog.September 18, 2025, 12:28 pm
