My story

Gaia is a gorgeous 10 week old, 14 lb mix puppy that is a little rambunctious, loving, and all around wonderful girl. Wherever Gaia goes, she goes, and she must go fast. She is always on the move. Gaia was being given away by a man in a parking lot down by the Texas/Mexico border. It was burning hot outside, and she had no food, water or shade. The man didn’t care who took her, he just wanted somebody to. One of our fosters saw this driving by, turned around, and took in Gaia. She was the last puppy left. She has been in our care for a couple weeks and is so sweet. While we do not know her parents, we believe she is a shep mix and will stay around 45-55 lbs once full grown. Gaia LOVES other dogs and is currently fostered with another one that we have taken into our rescue, a schnauzer mix named Orla, as well as the fosters own dogs. The foster also has cats and Gaia (and Orla) get along amazingly with kitties too! No issues at all. She is learning how to walk on a leash, but she can get a bit stubborn and wants to go her own way. The foster is doing wonderful with her training though! Gaia is 90% house trained and is 100% crate trained. She has no accidents in the bed during the night when she’s sleeping with the foster or in the crate when she is put in there. For a 10 week old puppy, that is pretty awesome! The foster has one young daughter and Gaia LOVES her. Gaia would do WONDERFUL with children of all ages. She is such a fun puppy, and she will keep you entertained and laughing for a long time. She is learning toys are a lot of fun and would love another dog in the home to play with, but not required! There are no concerns from the foster at all about Gaia, besides one – She enjoys putting rocks in her mouth. She carries them around and then will spit them out wherever she deems fit. Gaia would fit wonderfully into almost all types of homes. If you’re looking for a smart, loyal, playful, fun and eager to learn puppy, please consider Gaia. Gaia is current on vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, current on dewormer, will be microchipped and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption. If you are interested in adopting, please apply on our website at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gaia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
