My story

Georgie is a sleek, black-coated beauty with a heart as big as his journey. He came to the shelter at the end of July with his feline friend, Jeff (who has since found his forever home). Now it’s Georgie’s turn to find the loving family he’s always deserved. Brought to us by a compassionate grassroots rescue group, Georgie and Jeff had been living on the streets for months, relying on the kindness of a Good Samaritan who fed them daily. After about six months, the rescue stepped in to give them a shot at a better life — one filled with safety, affection and stability. The Beauty of Black Cats Georgie wears his silky black coat like a tuxedo at a gala — classic, elegant and endlessly charming. Black cats are often overlooked, but those who know them understand they’re some of the most affectionate, loyal and magical companions you can find. A Social Sweetheart Georgie has shown himself to be friendly and well-mannered with other cats. He’s shared space and resources comfortably and seems to enjoy the company of fellow felines, likely making him a great candidate for a multi-cat household. While he may be a little reserved at first, Georgie warms up with a little patience and love — and once he trusts you, his affectionate side begins to shine. Why Adopt Georgie? Georgie isn't just looking for a home. He's looking for someone to show him what family means. If you're seeking a kindhearted, companionable cat with a coat as smooth as midnight and a soul full of hope, Georgie is your guy. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times.
