My story

Larry and Fred’s world has been turned upside down. These two little Chihuahua mixes, just 3 ½ years old, were the center of their mom’s world. Sadly, when her health began to decline and she had to move in with family, she faced the heartbreaking reality that her boys couldn’t come along. Through tears, she entrusted them to us, hoping someone kind would see the love in their eyes and give them the forever home she wishes she could.Larry and Fred are gentle, affectionate lap dogs who only want to be near their person. They’ve been constant companions their whole lives, always ready to curl up beside you or follow you from room to room. They enjoy a little playtime in the yard and squeaky toys always make them happy, but their true joy is in being someone’s loyal shadows. They’ve always enjoyed each other’s company, and ideally, we’d love to see them adopted together. We understand, though, that adopting two dogs isn’t always possible, and they will do fine separated. If adopted separately, Fred will need to be the only dog in the home - Larry is the only canine friend he accepts. Larry, on the other hand, seems to do well with other dogs, but a meet-and-greet would be required to be sure. They’re healthy and doing well after treatment for Lyme disease, though they’ll need a patient hand to help with a few house-training reminders. Fred may have to wear a belly-band for a while to protect your couch! Most of all, they need a family who will promise them the same love and devotion they’ve already known.Larry and Fred have already lost the only home they’ve ever had -will you be the one to give them their next, and last, forever home?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fred, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
