My story

**French bulldogs are prone to many medical issues, such as skin allergies, IVDD, and heat stroke. Due to that, we are specifically seeking a family familiar with bulldogs for Herbo.**   Here comes Herbo! Herbo is estimated to be 5 years old and is a lovable roly-poly boy. He is named after the Chargers' quarterback, and he has the body type to match. Unlike the athlete, though, he is a low-energy guy who enjoys short morning strolls and chewing on his toys. Herbo currently weighs around 26lbs, but is slightly underweight and could benefit from gaining a little more weight. Herbo came to us from a local shelter after he was found as a stray. We don't know what his past life was like, but he has been blossoming in foster care and is oh-so ready to find his fur-ever family! Herbo provides endless entertainment with his goofy personality. His love language is food, and he is more than happy to accept tasty treats to make new friends. He also loves playing fetch when the weather is nice. Like most Frenchies, he loves his air-conditioned naps and is happy to chill on the couch while you work from home. He is still learning all of his basic manners, so he will need a family committed to continuing to work with him. Herbo has been doing well living with other dogs. He can be protective of his food, so he needs to be separated during mealtime. He also would be more than happy to be your one and only, more treats for him! Herbo has been doing well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction and proper supervision. Herbo could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids older than 10 years old. Herbo is still working on his housetraining, but has been making great progress. His new family will need to be patient with him while he is learning. He has been doing well in his crate overnight and for short periods during the day. Herbo may do well living in an apartment with proper exercise. Herbo appears to have some skin allergies and has been doing well on a non-prescription sensitive skin, salmon-based diet. Herbo is such a hunk, and he can't wait for you to fall in love with him. If he sounds like the lovebug you need in your life, submit an application today!   Herbo's adoption fee is $500.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. September 5, 2025, 5:13 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Herbo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
