My story

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Luca!  Luca is a happy-go-lucky 5-year-old, 30-pound Maltipoo with a heart as big as his smile. He’s cuddly, affectionate, and loves being close to his people, though he’ll let you know when he’s not in the mood to be picked up. This sweet boy looks forward to his twice-daily walks, wagging his tail the moment his leash comes out. He’s a relaxed walker, enjoys plenty of sniffing, and may even slim down a bit as he keeps up his fitness routine. At home, Luca loves curling up on the couch for a nap or snoozing through the night beside his humans. Luca gets along well with other dogs and, with his gentle personality, may do fine with cats, too. He’s polite, quiet, and well-behaved when left alone for a few hours, often choosing a cozy spot to rest. While he hasn’t mastered doggy steps yet, he’s quick to hop on the couch and is happy to be lifted onto a bed for snuggles. The perfect match for Luca would be someone who works from home or spends lots of time at home. Because he prefers people who can read his cues, a home without very young children would be best. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will brighten your days with love, laughter, and snuggles, Luca may be your perfect match! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies.
