Bauers TX

My story

Bauers is a 3-year-old Chihuahua/Chinese Crested (?) mix who weighs 8 pounds. Bauers came to the animal shelter with a complete femur fracture, most likely due to being hit by a car. Despite his painful injury, this happy dude quickly became a shelter staff favorite. Bauers' injured leg was amputated, and he has adjusted very well to being a "tripawd".  Bauers does well with dogs of all sizes, cats, and older kids. He hasn't been around younger kids, but we feel like he would do fine with them. Bauers enjoys the fenced yard at his foster home and enjoys playing with his foster siblings. He can go up and down stairs with no issues. In the evenings, he enjoys sitting with his foster mom and watching trashy reality romance on TV. Bauers loves small, soft squeaky toys - he prefers the apple-shaped ones over the melon-shaped ones for some reason. He also loves small Greenie dental treats. Although Bauers has free run of the yard at his foster home, we feel he would be okay on a leash since his former owner lived in an apartment. Bauers is crate trained and mostly housetrained (an occasional accident when his foster brothers mark inside the house). His coat is interesting. He has short, gray hair from his neck down his back but a fluffy white partial "boa" of hair around his neck and on his chest.
