My story

Hi, I'm Pine, a ~3 year old spayed female doxie/spaniel mix, weighing about 20lbs! My past wasn't easy, as I was rescued from a crowded and overwhelming environment (the humans call it a "hoarding" situation), where I didn't get the chance to be the beloved pet I was meant to be. But I'm ready to leave that behind and start fresh! I'm a little nervous, and I am shy and skittish when you first meet me. I need time to feel safe, and I hope you can be patient and gentle with me, and let me come to you on my own terms once I'm ready. I haven't had the best experiences with humans in the past, so I am still learning to trust. I want to let my guard down and show you my true, sweet self, but I need to know you're safe first. Deep down, I really just want to love and be loved. I like dogs, they help me to feel safe and more confident. Little kids are scary to me, but I don't mind older kids 8+ who know how to respect a dog's space. I think I would like cats, but maybe a slow introduction would be best for both of us. I wouldn't want to scare my potential feline sister/brother. One thing I'm really looking forward to is having a cozy, fenced-in yard to call my own, somewhere I can sniff, explore, and feel secure without worrying about getting loose (I'm still learning about leashes, as I was never leash trained in my prior life). A quiet backyard would be doggone perfect for me!  I am medically up-to-date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (expect some accidents while I adjust to a new routine/environment). Will you give me the chance to grow into the best pup I can be? Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2509456##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pine, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
