My story

Meet May, an adorable girl with a gleaming black-and-brindle coat. Now’s the perfect time to adopt! I’m one of the lucky pets featured in Clear the Shelters 2025! My adoption fee is reduced by $50 through September 15! Current Location: Frederick, MD PERSONALITY This easy-going girl loves the company of others. She has never met a person or a dog who she doesn’t like. She’ll love being with you but she doesn’t demand to be on top of you. She likes attention but isn’t super cuddly. At only six months old, May is a true puppy with glorious puppy energy! She loves play time and naptime and exploring and romping with her foster sib and she will love you too if you bring her home to be your loving companion. TRAINING AND LEARNING This is a smart puppy who is already doing very well with her potty training and is working on mastering the command to sit. At her foster home, May pays attention to her four-year-old pit-mix foster sibling and models her sib’s behavior. Every day May learns new things about the world and about how to have good puppy manners. When she is old enough, she will be eager to work with a patient family who can help her learn important skills like crate training and leash training, and continue her potty training. IDEAL HOME May will thrive in a patient family who can help her grow to become her best self. She is also looking for someone who won't leave her home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until she is older. The older she is, the more she can stay home alone. She just doesn't want her people to get mad at her if she has accidents or chews things she’s not supposed to when she is left alone for too long. She’s a puppy, so she gets bored quickly and when she’s bored, she could get in trouble. If you are ready to help May become the awesome family dog she can be, come meet her today.
