My story

Torag A17768352 lb. neutered male, approx 3 years old Are you into handsome, socially awkward boys? Me too! Meet Torag! 😂 Torag is the kind of guy who might trip over his own paws on a first date—but once he warms up, he’ll totally steal your heart-He’s super loving and affectionate but it seems it’s like he has first date jitters and clumsiness happening-Outside he initially just wanted to wander and sniff. Coming over occasionally but not knowing what I wanted from him-Inside he started to figure it out and wanted to be close for pets and attention. It just seems new to him and he’s not sure how to handle it.-He got super excited when I was trying to play with him and pinned his ears back and looked like he was ready to pounce on me… But he didn’t! He figured it out and instead he came in close and gentle and allowed pets. He’s so fun and sure to make you laugh out loud (multiple times)-The more comfortable he got, the closer he got. He then started crawling up on me for pets. “Like hey, this affection thing is kinda cool!”-He likes treats, sits and takes them gently-He started to engage in toy play (which also seems new to him). He enjoyed playing with a stuffie.-Walks nicely on leash-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Torag is the perfect mix of sweet, goofy, and affectionate—just waiting for the right person to laugh at his “first date jitters” and love him forever. Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
