My story

Ava Arrives!Sweet Ava arrived from a municipal shelter, where she was rescued from life on the streets. Ava is still settling in, and we are still getting to know her. But it’s safe to say that she is seeking refuge in a home where she can patiently be loved and cared for.ABOUT AVA- At shelter- Ava was found as a stray with minimal experience around humans. She is understandably untrusting and a little shy.- Ava prefers to be approached slowly and with caution. While she shows a love for chin or cheek scratches with a back-scratcher, it is best to pause and await her permission before offering tender pets.- Ava likes to be spoken to in a soft voice and feels most relaxed when approached gently and quietly. She also likes it when you slow blink toward her and patiently wait for her to receive you.- Ava is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.AVA’S IDEAL HOME- Ava will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children. At this point, it’s uncertain if she gets along with cats or other pets.- Ava will need patient adopters who are willing to work at earning her trust and affection, one paw at a time.- EHS will offer a short foster-to-adopt period before finalizing the adoption to assist Ava with successfully transitioning into a forever home. During this time, our skilled volunteers will offer support to the potential adopters as they get to know Ava and help ensure everyone settles in comfortably together. There is so much more to discover about little Miss Ava! A bit of a mystery, this gorgeous girl takes time to warm up to strangers, but with perseverance and protection, she is ready to let all of herself shine! If you have any questions about Ava or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ava, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
