Lank

My story

Lank has been on quite a journey of late. When his owner was no longer physically to care for him Lank was given to a neighbor. They adored him but one of their dogs did not -and attacked little Lank and gave him quite a bite. Luckily he has a positive attitude and is a survivor. Upon coming to DREAM he has had those injuries attended to. He also had advanced periodontal disease with a mouthful of teeth that needed to come out- he does have 2 left and gets along just fine thank you very much. As part of his dental disease he needed 2 surgical procedures to close holes created by infection. But don’t feel sorry for Lank, celebrate with him. Just check out the video playing with his foster sibling. His foster dad says he’s the perfect gentleman never having accidents and even asks to go outside. He loves people and is a determined snuggler overcoming all obstacles to land in a lap. He enjoys other dogs but would do ok with someone who has time to spend with him at home and willing to take him with when traveling. Lank loves to have adventures and is always up for a car ride. He loves his crate but does get a bit mournful when his humans have to leave him at home sometimes. Lank relishes catching a show in tv with his foster family and he always barks at the dogs on screen to say hello. 11 years old? That’s just a number. Go to our online adoption application. Lank's adoption fee is $400. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Lank will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime.
