My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $700 (Cheaper than therapy, comes with free snuggles, and guaranteed to make your neighbors jealous.) Meet the Bug Puppies!  These three teeny-tiny 8 week old comedians were born in a cushy DPS foster home after their mama, Bug (a rescued Chihuahua mix), strutted her way out of the shelter and into safety. Since day one, these pups have been living the good life: food delivered on time, snuggles on demand, and a full-time fan club applauding every time they pee outside. At just 2–4 lbs (aka lighter than your burrito bowl at Chipotle), they’re bite-sized bundles of chaos, charm, and cuddle power. Two fluffballs, one sleek bean—all ridiculously cute. Now, let’s meet the squad: Firefly “Swipe right if you can handle chaos in a 2-lb body.” Hobbies: turning squeaky toys into crime scenes, zooming like she’s in the Indy 500, convincing you that your fingers are edible. Strengths: small enough to fit in your hand, big enough to run your entire household. Looking for: a human who finds mayhem adorable and doesn’t mind tripping over toys. This little spark is a total show-off—equal parts playful and cuddly, with a side of mischief that keeps life interesting. Junebug  “If clinginess were a sport, I’d have Olympic gold.” Hobbies: gazing into your soul, napping in your arm while you try to type, reminding you that your coworkers don’t matter. Strengths: professional lap-warmer, champion snuggler, shadow extraordinaire. Looking for: a human who doesn’t mind being adored 24/7. Junebug skips the wrestling matches and heads straight for your lap. She’s sweet, devoted, and basically a velcro dog in training. Cricket “Tiny dog, big dreams.” Hobbies: fitting into your purse, making strangers squeal, being mistaken for a stuffed animal. Strengths: weighs less than your Starbucks order, melts hearts on sight. Looking for: someone who wants a pocket-sized BFF and doesn’t mind carrying him like the royalty he is. Cricket is the smallest of the crew—barely over 2 lbs—but his sweet, shy nature makes him impossible not to love. He’s your pint-sized sidekick, ready to conquer the world one cuddle at a time. These Bug Puppies might be little, but they’re professional life-changers. Adopt one, and prepare for joy, laughter, and strangers stopping you on the street to ask, “Wait… is that even a real dog?!”September 5, 2025, 11:14 am
