My story

*BENNY IS THE TYPE OF DOG WHO WILL NEED REGULAR PROFESSIONAL GROOMING* Benny was quite matted when he came to us, so he has now been shaved down. He does not look like his current photos, but his hair will grow back soon and he will need regular grooming appointments. We are preferring applicants who have experience owning dog who need this. Meet our adorable little guy named Benny! Benny is about 3 years old and he was surrendered to our shelter after his owners could no longer care for him. They didn't own Benny for very long after getting him from someone on the internet, so they weren't able to tell us much about him. We believe he is a Maltese/Poodle mix. What we do know is he is a happy and playful little guy once he gets to know you! Benny can be shy at first and will need his new family to be patient with him while he gets to know them. Once he is comfortable, Benny is a really fun little dog who loves attention. We think he is housetrained due to him being very clean in his kennel and trying to hold his urine in until he can go outside. He is a happy little guy who deserves a family! Benny is good with other dogs and he tested well with cats. He can go to a home with children 12 years old and older. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
