My story

Pierogi is a two-year-old, 8-pound long-haired Chihuahua mix with a big personality packed into a tiny body. This little guy may be small, but he’s full of spunk and character. When he first arrived from the Maricopa County Shelter, Pierogi was a bit of a firecracker and didn’t want anyone handling him. But once he got to Home Fur Good and had a chance to decompress, he started showing his softer side, allowing staff to carry him around and even enjoying gentle pets from his favorite people. Pierogi is still learning to trust and can be barrier-reactive, sometimes getting a little nippy when meeting new people or in certain situations. But he’s making progress every day with the help of consistent, positive training. In the right home—one with someone patient, experienced, and willing to continue his training—this funny, spirited boy will absolutely thrive. Pierogi is a Guardian Angel dog with an adoption fee of $300. This special program helps support other dogs at Home Fur Good who need extra medical or behavioral care or who have been waiting for homes a little longer. His adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and even a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.
