My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mya was rescued, along with 4 kittens and 2 teenagers, when they had been abandoned at a junkyard that vacated the premises.  She has had quite a journey over the last month, and while her fosters are still learning about her, here is what we know so far.   Mya is a beautiful, petite, calico mixed with oriental (probably Siamese as all of her kids looked Siamese).  She is wicked smart, super curious and a really lovely lady who is going to make a wonderful companion.  She enjoys coming to you for affection, but she does not yet enjoy being held or snuggled, but we believe with more time and acclimation to her forever home, that it will come.  She is very vocal and likes to tell you all the latest gossip.  She LOVES wand toys, especially with feathers, and will entertain you just as much as you entertain her!  She actually enjoys lots of toys and has higher energy, so they are good for her exercise and mental stimulation.  She uses cat trees, sisal posts and the litter box perfectly and enjoys perching in a window to watch outside.  She is super curious and likes to be around people, but has shown some anxiety when being left alone, which we believe will calm down when she acclimates to her forever home.  For this reason, a house will probably be most suitable, as her vocalness can get loud, so an apartment or duplex situation may disturb neighbors.  She was also recently spayed, and that will most likely help as well, but this is where she is at right now.  Her fosters are unsure of blending with other cats at present, as she had to be on high alert for so long, to protect her family.  She will most likely do well with younger cats, but we are actively pursuing integration with the resident cats, to see if that is possible.  (She was in quarantine and then spayed, so she is just now at a point to be introduced, so we are very fresh in the integration process and just erring on the side of caution.)  We do not believe children will be a good fit.  We also would add caution to be used going in and out of the house.  Since she always wants to follow you, and was formerly an outside cat, she may want to try and get outside until she gets acclimated.   Estimated DOB:   08/29/2022 Adoption fee: $70 (6% KY sales tax included)  We would love to hear from you!
