My story

ALL ABOUT ME  Name: Songyi Age: 3 years old Gender: Female Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Labrador Retriever Colour: Beige Weight: 30kg / 66lbs Microchipped: Yes   MY RESCUE STORY Hi there! My name is Songyi. When I was first rescued, I had been neglected and was in pretty rough shape. I even had a large lump on my neck, but thanks to the care I received, it’s now gone and I’m feeling so much better! I’m ready to leave my past behind and start a brand-new chapter filled with love, comfort, and a family to call my own.   MY HEALTH Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete)  I’ve been spayed and have no known health issues.   MY PERSONALITY I don’t let my dark past define me or take away my shine! When you meet me, the first thing you’ll notice is what a sweet, happy girl I am. I’m always smiling, often with a toy proudly carried in my mouth, ready to play. I’m also super smart and eager to please, which makes me a joy to train. More than anything, I adore human companionship—every time I see you, I’ll greet you with the excitement of someone who feels like it’s been 10 years since our last hello! I love leaning in close for comfort and gentle pets, and I already know some basic commands like sit, paw, and wait. With my loving heart and bright spirit, I’m ready to make every day with my forever family full of joy.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS With People: You’ll be able to tell right away just how much I adore people! I’m super friendly with strangers and love soaking up all the pets and attention I can get. I’ll happily roll over and show you my belly as a sign of trust—it’s one of my favorite ways to say, “I feel safe with you.” Don’t let my bigger size fool you either—you can easily scoop me up, and I’ll love every second of it. I’m also very easygoing around food and never guard my meals, which makes me an all-around sweetheart to have by your side.   With Dogs:  I enjoy meeting new dog friends and saying hello, but after the introductions, I usually prefer to do my own thing. When it comes to mealtime, I can be a little protective of my food if other dogs are too close—I might give a growl to let them know I need my space. For that reason, it’s best if I’m fed separately, just to keep things peaceful. I really am more of a people’s dog at heart—I’d much rather spend my time with my favorite humans than in rough-and-tumble play. That said, I still get along well with the other dogs at the training facility and know how to coexist politely.   With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, but with a slow and thoughtful introduction, I think I could learn to live peacefully with a feline friend.   ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES I’m a high-energy pup who loves to stay active! I need plenty of exercise, playtime, and room to run around so I can burn off my zoomies. Once I’ve had my fun and exhausted my energy, I’m more than happy to settle down indoors for some cozy relaxation by your side.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m a good walker and usually follow my handler’s lead nicely, though I can get a little excited and pull when something catches my eye. Since I’m a big, strong girl (around 30kg!), I’ll need a bit of management when meeting new people or on walks—I sometimes get so happy that I might pull or jump to say hello, which could accidentally knock over a child or smaller person. I’m still learning how to manage my excitement, and with patient guidance from my forever family, I know I’ll become calmer and better every day. I already know how to rest comfortably in my kennel—it’s my safe little space—and I’m eager to learn and please. I may bark occasionally to ask for attention, but otherwise I’m a sweet, easygoing girl. I know how to use both indoor and outdoor potty, though with a steady walking routine, I’d much prefer to potty outdoors like a pro!   MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment. A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors. A family that can shower me with love and attention. A family who understands my high energy needs and is committed to giving me regular exercise, along with continued training to help me walk politely and greet people more calmly—so my big, happy hellos don’t accidentally knock anyone over! Ideally the only dog in the family, or a calm and confident dog sibling who will respect my space.  Understanding of my love for food and willing to train me with love and patience so I learn to be more patient around other dogs during meal times.   SPECIAL NOTES When you meet me, you may notice the scars on my body—reminders of the abuse and neglect I went through in my past. But I don’t let those marks define me. I’m ready to start a new chapter with my forever family, one filled with love, safety, and care for the rest of my life. I truly deserve all the affection and undivided attention the right family can give, and I promise to give my whole heart in return. As I settle in, it’s recommended that I’m double-leashed with both a collar and harness (and even a gentle leader if needed) just to help me feel secure and make walks a little easier for everyone. With patience and love, I know I’ll blossom into the loyal, loving companion I was always meant to be.   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here!Songyi’s YouTube Playlist ##2504176##
