Rusty

My story

From a staff member 8/29: I tried to take Rusty outside today. When I approached the kennel, he ran to the back he eventually let me pet him through the kennel door. When I opened the kennel door, he ran to the back again crouch down low and showed a submissive grin. He let me pet him inside the kennel, and I was able to get the leash on him. When I went to pull him out of the kennel, he pancaked. I was not able to get him out of the kennel. On 9/2/25 Rusty attended playgroup. He had to be carried outside. Once in the yard he was timid and avoided other dogs. He tended to overcorrect friendly dog's greeting him. He loosened up some and seems to prefer the company of people to dogs From a staff member 9/3: I had to carry Rusty from the kennel to the play yard once in the yard he opened up a bit and seemed okay with being around me. He did seem to get overstimulated and started whining and started jumping all over me and in between me. He started jumping on the gate and I figured he did not like being outside long. He did walk back to the kennel and was pulling to get back inside. From a staff member 9/4: I took Rusty outside to have him meet a younger female dog. I did have to carry him but not the entire time, he would walk but easily got scared. Meeting the other dog through the gate and he didn't react to her, once in the yard he would sniff her and tried to ask her to play in his own form. Just explored the yard. Going back inside he walked all the way to his kennel with no problem. It may seem like he finds comfort being in his kennel. On 9/8/25 Rusty attended playgroup. He was somewhat friendly and social, but didn't seem to want to stay outside so he was allowed to go back early
