My story

Meet Coral Star! Coral Star entered Downey Shelter as a stray, and sadly, she wasn't claimed. We scooped her up to become a Frosted Face on August 27th. Coral is estimated to be 10 years old, and she weighs just 6 lbs. Coral is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about her in a home setting. Her Fling Mom shared this great update: "From the moment, this sweet little girl was placed in my arms, she was calm, content, and clearly ready to be loved. Coral met my crew — 2 dogs and 2 cats — and I set her up with her own cozy crate. That first afternoon, she wouldn’t leave it, so I just left the door open and gave her space. But after just a couple of days, she started venturing out on her own and chose to sleep on a dog bed outside the crate. She sleeps quietly through the night and is always in the same cozy spot in the morning. Now, she casually wanders the house and lounges beside me on the couch like she owns the place. We went to an open house at FFF last Sunday, and she got to join the littles yard. To my surprise, she actually initiated play with the other dogs! I haven't seen that side of her at home yet, and it was adorable! Coral is 100% house-trained! One hot afternoon, she got up, took a drink, walked outside through the open slider, peed, and came right back in! She even uses potty pads if needed — such a smart girl! Meal times are easy — I feed Coral separately so the others don’t steal her food. She LOVES her dry kibble and chicken. She politely waits while I feed the others, then follows me to her spot for dinner like a little lady. Coral is a quiet, low-maintenance little companion — so quiet, I almost forget she’s here sometimes! But don’t be fooled… when she does bark, it’s with surprising power! This little senior lady is slowly coming out of her shell, and it’s such a joy to watch." Stay tuned for more Coral Star updates — she’s shining brighter every day! To meet this special girl, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Coral Star, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
