My story

Meet TJ “A Dog’s Dog” Trevor Joseph, affectionately nicknamed TJ, is in Danville VA and ready for adoption. This happy boy was running with a group of homeless dogs in Louisiana and ended up being trapped. While this did upgrade his life to warm, dry beds and regular meals, it also meant he had to learn to be around people. He is not clingy, not constantly seeking human attention and approval. He is not a loner, however, and will often hang around at a respectful distance. Trevor is an ideal, considerate, loving and playful companion for another dog; *dogs raised like him have filled the holes left in homes when the passing of a beloved pet also leaves a dog without a furry companion. He has come extremely far regarding socializing with people, and will continue to progress as he gets into a regular home with its routines. This handsome boy walks well on a leash, and really enjoys walks with other dogs. TJ is great in his crate and is housebroken, and simply loves to play outside, in snow, rain or shine. An ideal home would have ANOTHER DOG to play with and learn from, as well as A FENCED IN YARD for romping. TJ loves his chew toys, and he is very food motivated. He rides well in a car, and will happily accompany you on errands. While Trevor gets nervous in a store environment, this has been lessening with exposure. This very kind and gentle, rarely barking, hale canine companion is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. ~As with all of our HMR dogs, we help ensure a good home transition, and continue to be available to support our adopting families. ~ To see more pics and videos of our adorable guy, put his hashtag into the search bar of Facebook #hmrtrevorjoseph
