Currently in a toronto foster home From foster mom: Sugar has been doing amazing. Took him a while to decompress but he and my dog Charlie get along really well. Sugar is young so he gets curious and has a lot of energy if you don’t walk it off, and guards my property for me lol, but he’s curious about other people and friendly. He had his first zoomies a few days ago! And I finally discovered what food to feed him that he likes, so he can put on some much needed weight. He has a little recall on the leash, still learning. He’s a lovely little dog, just learning how to be confident I think. 🐶 Hi there! My name is Sugar, and I’m a 7-month-old Jindo-Spitz mix boy, currently weighing about 9.8kg (21.5 lbs). 🐾 I was born in a city shelter, but I was lucky to be rescued when I was just 2 weeks old. I grew up safe and happy for about 4 months with my mom and siblings. These days, I’m living with my siblings while my mom gets some training help, and I’m learning so much every day! People say I’m sweet, social, and gentle, and I really love being around people—kids included! I warm up to new faces quickly and get along great with other dogs. I’ve got that classic puppy energy and playfulness, so sometimes I might let out a little growl while playing, but don’t worry—I'm never aggressive! Once I get to know you, I’m a bundle of joy and love, and usually pretty calm when I’m not goofing around. I don’t bark much at all—just a little when something’s unfamiliar. I love food (like, really love it!), but I also know how to share with my doggy friends. So far, I haven’t shown any signs of food allergies. I prefer doing my business outside and am still learning how to stay consistent, especially in new places—but with gentle, patient training, I’ll get there! I’m doing really well with crate training, and I ride calmly in the car, even if it still feels a little strange to me. I’m still figuring out the whole leash-walking thing, but I do my best to follow along. I’m also at that chewy puppy stage, so I’ll need good chew toys to help me stay healthy and out of trouble. For about two months, I lived with a foster family who taught me how to live peacefully with humans and learn basic manners. Thanks to them, I’m already used to home life and should transition smoothly to a new family. But… here’s something important: I’ve never been apart from my family and siblings for long, so if I move far away—like to Canada—it might be hard for me at first. I could feel some separation anxiety or nervousness with the big change. But with patience, structure, and love, I know I’ll settle in just fine. 💛 If you can help me get used to being alone slowly (short outings, getting comfortable with crates, car rides, and new places), plus give me lots of sniffy walks, playtime, and chew toys—I’ll be on my way to becoming a confident, well-adjusted pup. Since I’m still young and learning, I’ll need someone who’s ready to guide me with positive reinforcement and patience. I’m not overly hyper, and my calm nature combined with just the right amount of puppy energy makes me a great match for a loving family. If you’re looking for a sweet, smart pup to grow up by your side… I’m your Sugar. 💕
