My story

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! From the foster: Howdy there! Dakota (578) here, and I'm a pint-sized Texas tornado on the hunt for my forever posse and bright shiny future. My bags are packed, and I've got a whole lotta love to give, and fair warning, I'm not a lady who gives much personal space. I love to be underfoot and make sure you aren't exploring without me. I love other dogs but haven't quite learned their cues when they ask for space - in fact - I've been known to try to steal food and snacks right out of their mouth. Another high energy friendly dog in the home would be a great match for me, but older pups may not appreciate my enthusiasm or my desire to baby-bird food right out of their snoots. I just don't get it - sharing is caring though right?! When I'm not adventuring or wrestling my sisters, I'm happy to cuddle up for a long snooze. I'm all about that tug-of-war life, but people are my main priority. I mean, my mom was a brilliant Australian Cattle Dog and my dad was the neighbors' Lab mix, which explains my herding instincts mixed with a knack for mischief and a HUGE love for water. Bring on the kiddie pool please! My foster mama said I may be part water buffalo, and is pretty sure I also have springs in my toes because all four of my feet are rarely on the ground at the same time. Please note - this also means I'm likely not a great fit for little tykes, unless you want a happy-go-lucky dog to just constantly smack your wee one in the face. My foster family has a 6 year old boy and a 3 year old, and the older boy and I get along just fine but the younger one is too fun to pounce, I just can't resist! I'm super sweet, food-motivated, and full of that southern sass. I'll need some basic training (obedience and potty training for sure!), but I promise I'll make up for it with all the snuggles you can handle.
