My story

Current Weight (as of 7/30/25): 28 lbsFirst word that comes to mind to describe him/her: SMOOSHYStandout Physical Trait: SharPei rolls/faceBasic Personality Summary: This delightful, laidback pup can best be described as a CHONKYMONKEY. He learns quickly and is obedient, but is slightly more laid-back than some of his siblings. He has “sit,” down,” and “shake” totally nailed. If you’re looking for a chill, couch potato snugglebug with good manners and a happy smile, this guy is your man. Would do best in a home that: wants a fun-loving puppy who will grow into snuggly companion-animal, or potentially a therapy dog. He is happy to have his face smooshed by strangers, rests his head on your thigh instead of settling into the passengers seat in the car, and is PERFECTLY happy to be scooped up for snuggles. He is very responsive and respectful to older/bigger dogs, and he showed playful interest in his foster’s cat, so he could be safely introduced to a home with a cat who doesn`t mind dogs. This pup would do great with small children who are supervised, safe, and coached about appropriate puppy behavior. He’d be a great dog for someone who wants to bring their furbaby to restaurants/bars, friends homes, etc.General Pack Background: After being rescued from a hoarding situation, this “Criminal Minds Crew” (the brilliant crime-fighters inspired their individual names), or the “Chaos Cartel” arrived at PACC with distemper. After quarantine and treatment, these strong, spunky babies are chubby and thriving. All of them are social, curious, and confident. Their mama was a German Shepherd/SharPei mix, and their papa was a black lab. Their foster home has introduced them to large dogs, an elderly small/medium dog, and a cat. With the dogs, they are all VERY respectful and responsive to cues/corrections. They’ve expressed varying interests in the cat; they haven’t had much direct contact, but we are confident that with human guidance and kitty communication, they would all be just fine in a cat’s home.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt GIDEON, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
