HOW THIS ANIMAL IS WITH: CATS: Best as a single cat DOGS: May tolerate a dog after an introductory period, but happiest as a single pet KIDS: Likely good with older, respectful kids, gets a little nibbly in play for small children KNOWN LIKES: Loves attention from her people KNOWN DISLIKES: None so far ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Maggie was found as a small kitten on the streets of Dubai with a broken leg. Her rescuer got her medical attention, and she was able to heal without surgery. She loves people and just wants to spend time playing and cuddling with them. Unfortunately, Maggie did test positive for FIV, which simply means she has a less effective immune system. There is no special food or medicine involved, and cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives as indoor cats with quality food and vetting, like any other cat. Sadly, Maggie continued to be looked over in Dubai due to her FIV status. For two years she was either in a clinic cage or in boarding - waiting. Homeward Trails was asked to take in Maggie in the US where we better educate our adopters on FIV, to find her the wonderful home she deserves. She’s an easy kitty! Maggie isn’t a fan of other cats and only tolerates the dog in her current foster home. Maggie would be happiest as a single pet soaking up all the human attention. She does get a little overexcited and mouthy in play, so best if older kids only who won’t be scared by.
