My story

Meet Bruno! This scared little 3 year old Yorkie boy has been passed around and traumatized a lot in his young life already. It’s already frightening enough being a tiny cute little dog in a big scary world and he’s been bullied by a bigger dog and had some bad human experiences. He’s not an aggressive dog, just needs some time to warm up and bond and a lower key adult home, not a lot of noise and chaos. He seems to gain confidence and enjoy the company of other little dogs and would like a compatible doggie buddy. Because he’s so skittish he is a flight risk so extra care will need to be taken to make sure he doesn’t get loose especially at first in a new place. He will likely need some work and patience with housebreaking, some confinement and a belly band and definitely expect some accidents If you would like to help show Bruno that world doesn’t always have to be so scary, email njwoof@cs.com to meet him in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
