My story

Hank is a pure-bred bloodhound, about 2 years old. He i s the sweetest, gentlest boy and he is absolutely looking for someone he can devote his life to!! Old soul is absolutely the best description of his beautiful face and eyes! Hank looks at you with soulful, golden-brown eyes that feel like he’s known you forever and loves everything about you!  He’s the sweetest, most loving, boy ever! The moment you look in those eyes, touch his soft as velvet ears and feel those silky droopy cheeks rolling over your fingers….your heart will melt and you’ll want to take him home.  Getting his ears rubbed and giving him a back massage is definitely his favorite!  He will about go to sleep standing up with a good back rub!  He’s a good boy in the car and house too!   He loves the outdoors and is great on walks.  When he  encountered a group of deer, 2 does with 2 fawns he stopped and watched them from about 20ft away, staying calm and quiet, simply watching them and immediately began walking again when it was time to go. Also, no extreme reaction when a fox ran by. He also doesn’t get crazy over his foster's cats or rabbit, accepting their presence without excitement. He has been skittish of noisy cars and trucks.  Stopping and rubbing his head is sufficient to let most normal cars pass without incident. Hank is still timid from his experiences, he needs some exposure to new things and a lot of patience and understanding while he adjusts to new surroundings and experiences.  Indoors is still new and frightening, but he hasn’t had any accidents in the house!  He will go into and sleep in a crate, but it takes a huge one!  He needs at least 48in long and 36in tall or bigger! But Hank's favorite place is outside!  It’s not surprising that he roams with his nose down sniffing all that he can find!  But I also found out he will fetch!   Just give Hank a few minutes of your time and he will give you his entire life! Adoption fee: $525, includes all shots, sterilized, heartworm negative, dewormed, flea preventative, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. The adoption policies and applications can be found at the following links: https://fancycats.org/adopt-a-cat and https://fancycats.org/adopt-a-dog. Email us at  adoption@fancycats.org for general questions about our rescued cats. Email us at dogadoptions@fancycats.org for general questions about our rescued dogs. See our calendar of adoption events at https://fancycats.org/(scroll towards bottom) You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like bridges between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats and dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please visit: https://fancycats.org/volunteerAugust 29, 2025, 12:37 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hank, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
