Opal

My story

Opal is a beautiful Maltese mix who is approximately 4-5 years old and weighs 11 pounds. She came from the streets of south Texas near the border of Mexico in terrible condition. She does not like living in a crate or kennel at all. She will do best in a private home where she can be the only one and attach herself to her person. Opal is a sweet and gentle girl, but she has a warming up period to get to know new people. Once she feels safe and comfortable, her personality starts to shine through, as you can see in the video. She is a one-person dog, so if you have a lot of people in and out of your home, she might not be the best fit for you. Opal gets along with the other dogs in her foster home. She will do best in a quieter home, with a patient person who will show her how wonderful it is to finally have a comfy home of her very own. Opal is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas but can be transported to Geneva, Illinois on October 18th (Gotcha Day) with an approved application and confirmed adoption.. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $450 which includes her transport fee.
