Kori

My story

Say hello to Kori. This sweet 2 year old worked his way onto Hero's radar screen the same way many of our dogs do. He was a stray who had been in the shelter for a few months and sadly, had worked his way, through no fault of his own, to the top of the euthanasia list as the shelter was full. Thankfully, Hero was able to help in time, and boy did we get another good one. Kori must have been in a home in his earlier life, as he is SO well mannered. He's never had an accident in the house, he's great in his crate, and he is great at chilling out on the floor or on his dog bed. He loves to play with his toys, and so far has been perfect about knowing the difference between the toys he CAN chew on from the "toys" that he CAN'T chew on (aka shoes, remote controls, chair legs, etc). He even understands many basic commands...he sits for his treats, responds to come, down, and no pretty well, and dials up the love, happiness, and tail wagging when he hears "good boy", which he hears almost continuously. If you are looking for a grumpy, aloof, sad pup, then Kori is definitely not your type. He has such a sweet, friendly, happy personality and just adores people, as well as other dogs. He doesn't meet strangers - new people are just the next ones for him to love on. He loves following his people around, is curious about everything, and absolutely LOVES to snuggle. His favorite spot is in someone's lap, and he can't wait to find his forever family to set up his permanent "lap camps" and share a lifetime of love, hugs, and sweetness with them. He's 28 pounds, HW-, neutered and of course up to date on all of his meds and shots. Some lucky family is going to strike gold with this boy. Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
