My story

Now’s the perfect time to adopt! I’m one of the lucky pets featured in Clear the Shelters 2025! My adoption fee is reduced by $50 through September 15! Meet Elliott Elliott is a 7-month-old, 35-pound pup with a story as big as his personality. Born on a freezing night in Kosovo, he’s the only survivor of his litter, a true testament to resilience. Now this lanky, goofy boy with floppy “Marmaduke” vibes is ready to trade his international journey for a forever home. Energy and Personality Elliott is a puppy through and through. He’s energetic, playful, curious, and sometimes a little sassy about getting what he wants. He loves toys but will happily test out a table leg or rug if no one is paying attention. When he plays, he plays big - long legs, goofy flops, and plenty of enthusiasm. Underneath the antics, though, is a sweet soul who just wants to belong. Training and Behavior Elliott is learning the ropes of family life and will thrive with patience and structure. He’s shown great progress with house training and lets you know when it’s time to go outside. He’s working on crate training, though it isn’t his favorite place—he usually needs a gentle nudge to go in, then settles down fairly quickly. Like many puppies, he can be mouthy, barky, and persistent when he wants attention, but he’s smart and responsive to consistency. Elliott does bark - at people, dogs outside, or sometimes even the TV. He’s practicing “quiet,” and while it doesn’t always stick yet, he’s making progress. He also whines or barks when he wants something, like potty time, playtime, or when you leave, though the separation protests are getting shorter. Social Life Elliott enjoys other dogs and is happiest when he has a canine buddy to wrestle and play with. Sometimes his big, goofy energy can overwhelm smaller or calmer dogs, but he listens well to corrections and backs off when told “enough.” With people, he’s mostly affectionate and curious, but he can be wary at first—he barked at his foster’s neighbor and even growled once when feeling unsure. These moments seem rooted in fear or discomfort rather than aggression, so slow introductions and gentle reassurance will help him build confidence. Quirks and Special Traits - Flops dramatically onto the floor instead of lying down neatly - May bark at the TV if something catches his eye - Runs perimeter “laps” indoors to let you know it’s potty time - Equal parts goofy and sensitive, which makes him endlessly endearing Best Home Fit Elliott will do best with adopters who understand puppies aren’t perfect but are worth the work. He needs guidance, training, and exercise to help him grow into his best self. A home with another playful dog would be a bonus, as would adopters who can provide consistency and calm leadership. Because he can be nervous with new people, he may not be the best match for families with very young children. Veterinary Care Examined by a veterinarian and issued a health certificate Up to date on vaccinations for his age Neutered Microchipped On heartworm preventative On flea and tick preventative Treated for worms and parasites

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Elliott, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
