My story

All people inquiring about pets listed as Courtesy Listings on the EAPL website and/or EAPL posting adoption boards should contact the current pet owner/rescue/shelter for answers to any questions and for final approval and placement. Please do not contact EAPL  about courtesy listings. The pet owner/rescue/shelter and new owner shall make all arrangements on transferring the pet, including information on history, vaccines, etc.  Jade is a 3-½ year old bull terrier cocktail; mostly Staffordshire Terrier, but some Pitbull, Boxer and Bull Dog mixed in for character. She is very affectionate and content to sleep her day away. She is not fond of running or all day hikes, but loves a nice long walk in the evenings with lots of opportunities to explore new scents. Depending on the weather, Jade spits her time between being outside and inside. Jade is well trained and socialized. She had formal obedience training as a puppy with skills consistently reinforced and added to since then. She walks well on a leash or off a leash. Knows many functional commands like sit, stay, out-if-the-kitchen, off and quiet, and some fun commands like shake, roll-over, and speak. Jade is very food motivated and smart, so easy to train new skills. She is crate trained and reliably house trained. Jade has a strong prey drive and loves to chase critters in the yard. She has not had much exposure to cats, so do not know how she would do with a cat in the house. Jade will leave large animals like deer and elk alone, even when walking off leash. Although interested in other dogs when walking, she does not lunge or pull. Jade is also very social. She is happy to meet new people and dogs. She enjoys hanging out on the patio of restaurants and making new friends at the dog park. Jade was mostly raised by teenagers, so she can get pretty excited and play rough. She has never met a dog she didn’t want to play with, but her enthusiasm has turned some dogs off. Although she greets younger kids very gently while on a leash, it would take some training to ensure she is calm with them at home. Jade has been in a stable home for the last 3-years where she had lots of people around. Due to changes in work and life situations, Jade is currently left home alone for 12+ hours a day, multiple days a week. This is not fair to her. I am looking for a better situation for her where she will have more company during the day and preferably another young dog to play with. I would love to talk to you about how Jade may be a loving addition to your family. Stacey 303-619-7283August 20, 2025, 9:04 pm
