My story

Meet Sophie V! Sophie is a super sweet and fun-loving 1.5-year-old German Shepherd mix whoâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s full of life. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a large-sized dog (on her last visit to the vet she was roughly 80lb) with a beautiful coat, and expressive eyes. Sophie is affectionate, playful, and always ready for her next adventure, though she can be a little shy at first before warming up to new people. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Sophie has a high energy level and loves to run, play, and explore. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s happiest with plenty of exercise and stimulation, whether itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s chasing toys, chewing her favorite treats, going for long walks, and scent work (a huge fan of 'Hide the duckfoot'). She does okay on the leash but can get very excited and pull. Sophie is fantastic with people and loves attention, though weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re unsure how she does with other dogs or cats since we donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t have any. She is house-trained and doing well with crate training. Though sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s great when someone is home she still learning to settle when left alone. Sophie has completed formal obedience training and is super smart. She knows sit, down, come, stay, and wait and sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s currently working on place. Prior to needing to rehome her we were in the process of training to take the AKC Good Citizen Test. We have yet to take the test but have done a practice test. With her intelligence and eagerness to learn, she would thrive in a home that can continue her training and provide the active lifestyle she craves. Due to family health issues, we are unable to give Sophie the level of activity and engagement she deservesâ&#194&#128&#194&#148this is through no fault of her own. She would do amazing in a home with a yard and an active family who can keep up with her energy. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re looking for a sweet, energetic, and intelligent companion to share your adventures with, Sophie may be the perfect match for you!
