My story

Say hello to Ballerina, a beautiful little soul with a heart as big as her spirit. At just 3 months old, this tiny Chihuahua has already shown incredible resilience. Born with a birth defect, Ballerina is missing both of her rear feet — but don’t let that fool you. She zips around with determination and joy, never letting her disability hold her back.While she’s currently thriving, potential adopters should be mindful of possible future complications and be prepared to provide her with the care and support she may need as she grows.Ballerina is the definition of sweet. She’s incredibly friendly and loves to cuddle — especially with other dogs. She would do best in a home with another pup to snuggle and bond with, as she finds comfort and companionship in her furry friends. She also loves curling up on a warm lap, bringing calm and joy wherever she goes.Ballerina may be small and special, but her love is immeasurable. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and inspiring companion, she might just dance her way into your heart.Ballerina is in foster and is only available to meet at the shelter on the weekend. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours. Adopters will visit with an adoption counselor and complete a short application. Adopters must live within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and be at least 21 years old. Renters must provide proof of pet deposit and/or written permission by landlord to have a pet.ADOPTION FEES: Includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, fecal, and heartworm test (dogs) or FeLV/FIV test (cats). All cats and dogs are current on heartworm and flea preventative. $250 for puppies under 6 months of age and $200 for dogs older than 6 months. $150 for kittens under 6 months of age and $125 for cats older than 6 months.
