My story

He is 43 lbs. Jack was found wandering as a stray in rural Texas, freshly groomed and clearly loved by someone...so the shelter was certain his family would come for him. But days turned into weeks, and no one ever showed up. Once his stray hold ended, it became heartbreakingly clear that Jack’s people weren’t coming back. That’s when Jack got his second chance: a ticket to Colorado, where he’s now searching for the forever family who will cherish him and never let him down again. Jack is a gentle, affectionate guy who is friendly and does well with other dogs. Jack is now ready for a fresh start and a family that understands the value of companionship—for dogs and people alike. If you have a sweet dog who’s looking for a loyal sidekick, Jack might just be the perfect addition to your pack. We don’t know if Jack has had any formal training, but a (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class will help him build confidence, bond with his new family, and master good manners. Training is essential for a successful adoption, and Farfel’s is happy to provide a list of recommended force-free trainers to set Jack up for success. Jack has been fully vetted, is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog.
