Tamale

My story

Hello everyone, I would like to introduce to you my foster fur baby Tamale, as in "Hot Tamale. Tamale is a five year old Chihuahua mix. She is super duper sweet. Tamale had a loving owner who found himself unhoused and in a tough situation where Tamale was taken from him and sent to a HIGH KILL SHELTER. Her owner advocated for her and was able to get Tamale removed from this shelter in order to save her life. She is now with our rescue. Tamale is house trained ( at least with me she is). I don't know if she is crate trained because I rarely have to use crates. She does awesome with my dog and my daughter's dog. I can tell that at sometime in her life she was food insecure. I am working with her to try and slow her down a bit. I am not a trainer, but I am working with her on standard commands. When walking Tamale on leash, she does become distracted and reactive to what's going on around her. Also, she does become very anxious if we are in a busy loud situation. such as a neighborhood gathering where there may be many different sounds and sights at one time. She will always protect you and verbally let you know when someone is approaching the house, no matter how many times a day it's necessary. She loves being near her person and she does this cute twirling thing whenever I return home. Tamale does shed a bit especially when the seasons are changing. Tamale's owner loved her enough to fight for her life even when he understood that she was not coming back to him. That is a lot of love, and I am so glad he did. She is a wonderful little girl. Tamale needs a furever home. If you can commit to loving her for the rest of her life, please consider adopting this sweet girl.
