My story

To adopt, or not to adopt—that is the question. But once you meet Hamlet, you’ll wonder why you even paused to think. This medium-sized charmer is equal parts goofball and gallant hero, with a knack for stealing both the spotlight and your snacks. His handsome face and dramatic expressions could win him a standing ovation, but he’s really just hoping for a standing invite to your couch. Hamlet’s ready to trade in his soliloquies for squeaky toys, his royal court for a loving family, and his tragic monologues for happy howls. He’s a loyal companion with a comedic streak, perfect for anyone who enjoys a little theatrics with their tail wags. If you’ve been searching for a dog who will keep you laughing, loving, and maybe quoting a bit of the Bard, the curtain is rising—it’s time for Hamlet’s happily ever after. This cutie resides at our Wantagh location and meetings are by appointment only. If you are interested in meeting them, you must click "Apply for Adoption" to submit an online application. If you're viewing this animal on Petfinder, please visit the animal's page on Bideawee.org and click on the "Apply for Adoption" button to submit an adoption application. Once we receive your application, we will be in touch to schedule an appointment to meet them! Prior to adoption, all of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and given their age-appropriate vaccines. This dog was treated for an intestinal parasite called giardia, which is a treatable condition but makes them contagious to other dogs. Out of an abundance of caution, until they finish their treatment this dog should only be adopted to a home without any other dogs.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hamlet, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
