My story

PART OF A BONDED PAIR: Creed is the sweet, more demure brother of Carter. He has Cerebral Hypoplasia, a neurological condition where the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for coordination and balance, is underdeveloped. It is a non-progressive disease and has no affect on his health overall outside of his coordination. He has adapted well and doesn't need any assistance with day to day tasks such as eating, drinking or using the litter box. He tries and does everything his brother does. His only limitation is that he should not be an outdoor cat. I think that as a result of his condition, he is more cautious of new people and places. Upon bringing him home to foster he initially he ran away from me and hid. Slowly he has become more receptive and enjoys some good pets and belly rubs, but can still be wary at times. Because of this I would avoid a household with young children who aren't able to understand those cues. Like any kitten, he loves to play not only with his brother but with my own cats, and is very loving to them. I don't know how he is with dogs, but I imagine he would be receptive with the right ones since he likes my cats so much. When he isn't playing, he's usually cuddling and sleeping with Carter. I believe Carter has been an integral part of Creed's success both physically and socially, and the love they have for one another is clear. I think so long as they're together Creed will continue to blossom and flourish. ##2432168##
