My story

Good With Kids: Yes Good With Other Dogs: Yes. Shy at first. Good With Cats: *Yes Housetrained: Almost there! Crate Trained: Not fond of crate. Does well outside of crate. House Manners: Good. Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes. Knows Basic Commands: Yes Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Moderate Special Needs: None Physical Fence: Favorite Game: Cuddling with humans or playing tug Arrival story: Rescued from outside an office building in Midtown in Detroit after he walked up to the door. Approximate age / Weight: 1-3 years old and 30 lbs. Personality: Kermit is a sweet, friendly little guy whose biggest wish is to be close to his people. Whether it’s curling up for snuggles, tagging along on a walk, or trotting happily on a hike, Kermit is just thrilled to be included. He has never met a lap he didn’t want to climb into, making him the perfect companion for anyone looking for an affectionate and loyal friend. At home, Kermit has good manners, though he may have the occasional accident—especially in new places. He tolerates his crate but isn’t a fan, and will let you know by barking or chewing his blanket. The good news? He’s not destructive when left outside of the crate—he just prefers not to be alone. Long car rides are no problem for him; he settles in nicely for the journey. *Cats - Kermit does want to play with the resident cats he has met but would likely not respect the boundaries of a fearful cat. When it comes to toys, Kermit can’t resist a good chewy, and his beloved moose toy holds a special place in his heart. He’s still learning new commands beyond “Sit” and “Down,” but he’s eager to please and very food motivated (with the funny exception of peanut butter, which he’s decided is not for him!). New Home: Kermit is dreaming of a person or family who will shower him with love and let him be their snuggle buddy. While he’d happily tag along on outdoor adventures, what he truly wants most is someone who will simply enjoy his company and give him plenty of cozy cuddle time. Contact: Please contact wtdr@waggintailsdogrescue.org with any questions or submit adoption application via our website www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoption-application. ADOPTION INFO: We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes.
