Olwen (Scrappy)

My story

Olwen is a gentle, handsome boy who’s ready to find his forever home. His former family shared that he did well with children and is housebroken—great qualities that will help him settle in to his new home. Though a little shy at first, Olwen quickly adjusts and enjoys exploring at his own pace. When you take a break and sit down, Olwen will happily hop his front half into your lap—sometimes for a treat, sometimes just for a pet. He especially enjoys back scratches and affection during these sweet moments. Olwen enjoyed a Dog’s Day Out with a volunteer, and his favorite part was a hanging out on his new friend’s couch for cuddles in their lap.On the trails, Olwen is a leisurely walker who likes to take things slow, stopping often for sniffs and tail-wagging toy time—he’ll even carry his favorite toy joyfully along the way. While he may start out pulling on the leash with excitement, he quickly relaxes into a calm and easy stride. He knows “sit,” “paw,” and “down” and is very treat-motivated, which makes him both smart and eager to please. In the play yard Olwen really shines when he plays with his toys, rolls over on his back and shows off his playful side.Olwen has met other dogs at the shelter, he does best with the ladies and may need to meet any potential doggie roommates to make sure they are a good match. Olwen is eligible to come back to BARCS for social sessions.With his mix of sweetness, smarts, and playfulness, Olwen is sure to win over the hearts of anyone who meets him.
