My story

Sallie and Pastel MUST be adopted together. There are NO exceptions Adoption Fee: $1100.00 for the pair A cattery owner decided to stop breeding and her last five cats came to us. Four were Ragdolls and one was the Devon Rex, Alice. All are young and Sallie is probably the youngest, just barely a year with her perfect white kitten teeth. You can see the brown "mask" on her face has not yet filled in dark brown as it will be when she is mature. Sallie is the baby. Already she shows how striking her light cream fur looks with her dark brown points. I always love little white feet. She is a treasure. She will continue to grow bigger for the next couple years as she matures. Her best friend is another Ragdoll girl named Pastel for her dilute colors. We could see that they were really bonded so they will stay together. Pastel is a little older than Sallie, maybe 18 months. Her nipples look as though they have been used so we think she has had a litter recently. She is the social director of this group. She loves humans and will approach anyone to make friends. Everyone loves her. Sallie does not have as much confidence with strangers as Pastel but she is loving and cuddly when she knows you. These five kitties needed to be spayed and went in to a Friday appointment. To close the body after a spay there are two more layers of tissue under the skin that must be sutured together. Pastel is so playful and active that during the night after her surgery she played and jumped and pulled out her inner stitches. Her intestines migrated thru those layers and were contained by her skin sutures. It was a HUGE hernia. Of course this happened on a weekend when vets were closed, so off we went to the 24 hour emergency vet. $3268 later she was all put back in place. If you don't move quickly with a hernia like this the intestines can twist and cause even more serious trouble. She healed nicely right away and it is all over except my heart still pounds when I think about it. You may have already read about Pastel's story in the donation requests we posted for her. ( Please consider helping us with her expenses if you can.) When Pastel arrived she was a little thin from nursing her kittens and her coat was thin also. A kitty's body puts all her nutrients into her kittens. The mom's coat grows lush and full when the hormones change after a spay. You can see this happening with Pastel's coat. Sallie hasn't had kittens and is already silky. These two best friends are young, healthy, beautiful little kitties who will make some family very happy. Sallie is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Sallie (and Pastel) please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org. NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sallie (and Pastel), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
