My story

Pablo came to ACCT Philly after his former owner had to surrender him because of breed restrictions in their housing. Originally taken in from a friend who could no longer care for him, Pablo has spent the past several months as a beloved companion, described as very sweet, affectionate, and protective in a gentle way. Pablo is a friendly, fun boy who loves attention and being close to his people. He has medium energy, enjoying walks, tug-of-war, and playing with toys, but is just as happy to relax and snuggle. He can be a little anxious in new situations and pulls on leash when excited, but volunteers describe him as wiggly, happy, and eager to meet new friends. In playgroup, he showed loose, playful body language and lots of enthusiasm. Pablo would do best with a family that understands his need for reassurance and consistency, and who can give him the space and love he deserves. Behavioral Notes 08/18/2025 Play group notes: Good gate greetings, push/pull, loose body, tail wags, ears up, hackles relaxed, pushy, mounting, does not respond to correction Per volunteer 8/17: Pablo is an energetic, fun dog. He was in the crate when I approached he was wiggly and happy to see someone coming toward him. He allowed me to leash him with no issues and exit the crate to go outside. He pulls on the leash from his excitement. Outside he went to the bathroom right away and went directly to the sprinkler to splash in. He didn’t want to take toys as he was more focused on seeing what other people and dogs were doing. He enjoyed meeting other people outside and there was no negative behaviors when passing other dogs. He’s a beautiful and fun dog!
