Name:    Celeste        Best Guess for Breed:    Boxer and Shepherd mix     Best Guess for Age:    1 year as of August 2025       SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:    35 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs!  We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:    South Carolina shelter - Celeste needs a foster or adopter to make her way to the DC area   Special adoption considerations: Celeste is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!   Celeste is Looking For:     Celeste is a beautiful 1-year-old boxer mix with a striking brindle and white coat. Still young, she has her whole life ahead of her and is ready to share it with a family of her own. Like many pups her age, Celeste has a wonderful mix of playful energy and sweet affection. She’s looking for someone who can give her the love, guidance, and companionship she deserves as she continues to grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be.
