My story

This handsome GSD is Rocket! He arrived at the shelter as a lost dog on 8/8, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. Rocket is now keeping his paws crossed for a new, forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe him as an awesome dog! He is as sweet as can be, and he's very attentive and eager to please. He knows several commands including sit, down, and stay. Rocket is approximately 2 years old and weighs 56 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Unfortunately, Rocket did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care he can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while he receives treatment. Rocket is waiting in run 22; his ID # is 12635. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.
