When we picked these babies up from the Lancaster Animal Shelter on July 21, 2025, we passed a sign indicating it was 100 degrees out. That’s how this litter of four got their litter name, the 100 Degrees Litter. And they are named after ways to stay cool. Our black male is AC. The torti female is Shade. The lighter dilute torti is Lake, and the darker dilute torti is Brook. They were about 2 weeks old when they came to us, so we are calling their birthday July 9, 2025. These kittens should be weaned from the bottle and ready to go home the first week of September. Their back story is they were left at the animal shelter in a bucket. The folks who dropped them off said the feral mom cat abandoned them on their porch. We’re not sure that’s the real story because the kittens were clean and chubby when we got them, which means the mom cat was doing a good job. Anyhow, they are good eaters (still chubby), playful, and love human attention. We have a strong preference for littermates to be adopted in pairs, the advantage being with siblings you are guaranteed to have a bonded pair. They provide comfort, companionship, and a wrestling partner for each other. In the right situation we may consider applications for a single kitten to a home with another cat or a cat-friendly dog. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic. To set up a visit, drop me a note at cherylsferalsandfosters@gmail.com or PM me. If you are considering adopting, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow their journey on Facebook: Cheryl’s Ferals and Fosters. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).
If you have any questions or would like to adopt AC, Shade, Brook, Lake, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
