My story

The summer Denise was adopted was the summer grace got the spotlight. Denise is a smaller, scruffy sweetheart from the Winnebago County hoarding case, and while she may not demand attention like some of her bouncier siblings, she earns it with quiet charm and soft eyes that seem to understand everything. She’s gentle, sweet, and polite — the only one who knew to sit perfectly still for picture time, like the true lady she is. Denise could use a good grooming (and she’ll look even more adorable once she’s had her glow-up!), but underneath the scruff is a dog with a heart full of love and a spirit that’s just waiting to feel truly at home. She’s good with other dogs and would thrive in a calm, kind household where she can continue to open up at her own pace. This could be the summer someone finally sees Denise for the quiet treasure she is — and gives her the forever home she’s waited so patiently for. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
