Meet Baxter Baxter may be small at just 11 pounds, but his story is one of quiet resilience. This 3-year-old Mini Poodle spent the early years of his life in a puppy mill, where love was absent and survival came first. Now, thanks to a caring foster home, Baxter is beginning to discover the joys of being a real dog. He’s still learning how to navigate the world—loud noises startle him, and kennels make him anxious—but every day, he’s gaining confidence. He’s especially comforted by other dogs and does best with a canine companion to help guide and reassure him. Baxter’s ideal home will be calm, patient, and understanding of his past. Another friendly dog is a must, and no small children, as he continues to build trust and find his footing. He’s slowly learning to play, exploring toys for the first time. House training is a work in progress, but Baxter is eager to please and making steady improvements. This little guy has been through a lot, but he’s not giving up—and neither should you. Baxter is ready for someone to show him what a forever home truly means: safety, kindness, and unconditional love. ? Note: The above bio on the dog reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home.
