Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees, but if the potential adopter is willing to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. **** WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE BEAUTIFUL LONNEY AS SHE HAS A PENDING MEET & GREET WITH A PREVIOUS ADOPTER. ***^ At the age of merely 1 year old, Lonny was going to lose her life in the highest kill shelter in CA as no one was coming to save her. Pictures of her & a video was posted on FB of Lonny sitting in the shelter just begging for someone to come save her. It ripped our hearts out & we could not bare to let her lose her beautiful life. Our beautiful Lonny will now be looking for a home to cherish her. Lonny was brought back to WA from CA. Lonny was rescued a mess. She was dirty, covered in mats where she had not been shaved down to the skin. So we believe that she was a full mated mess & was shaved down. She was a little thin too but has put on a good amount of weight in her loving foster home. We do factually know she did have a previous home & her mother no longer wanted her. Once her foster mum read her paperwork & seen what her original name was Lonny started dancing & singing at her with so much joy. This girl is one smart little lady. Lonny looks straight into your soul & your eyes & puts her paws on you for you to look at her & give her love. She does this both to her foster mum & dad. She has flourished in her foster home. At first she was a little nervous but now she rules the roost with love, playing & her beautiful personality. She absolutely adores comfy beds & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, we don’t know if this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. When a clean blanket comes out she gets so excited to go lay on it. She enjoys sleeping with her foster siblings & in bed with you. She does sometimes get jealous of her foster siblings in bed with her foster mum & will let them know. She can be found sitting with her foster siblings on the couch or bed. She does also try to pull the blankets off the couch so she can sit on them if she wants to sit on the floor. Lonny is wonderful with her baths & grooms as she has learnt since we got her to have them. Lonny loves to eat & is a wonderful eater now & she is not shy about that. We are teaching her to share with her foster siblings & is learning to. We believe her previous owner was restricting her food as she lets her fosters siblings know not to touch her food. She eats a clean diet of, raw proteins, fruits, vegetables a small of grains, along with different supplements & fats. She also loves collagen sticks & bully sticks. She is the nicest schnauzer her foster mum & dad said they have ever fostered. In her current foster home she enjoys going into the backyard & sunning herself & running & playing with her dog friends. She does walk really well on a harness & leash & has been taught since she has been in the rescue. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Lonny as you can imagine spent such a long time in a caged environment. Please do not say you won’t crate her & then go & crate her, that is unacceptable. We are also looking for a forever home for Lonny where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Lonny is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her & never give up on her. Lonny loves her dog friends so much & she enjoys being with them & has never met a dog she doesn’t like. She does not discriminate against breeds. She even loves puppies. We currently have her with other dogs in her loving foster home & she plays non stop with them so it’s mandatory for her to go to a forever home with another young dog or dogs in the home for her to thrive. Lonny needs a fully fenced backyard if it’s a freestanding house. Lonny is roughly 18 lbs, & perhaps 1 year old & possibly a miniture schnauzer but what she is mixed with we are not sure. She is female, spayed, she had her shots, including DHPP, rabies & dewormed. But once these shots expire we will not redo them as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs & will only redo the rabies. Lonny has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had her around children so we do not recommend cats nor children but it’s always up to the adopters to responsible with their children, cats & dogs. We were not there when Lonny was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Lonny’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Lonny potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Lonny & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Lonny who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this special sweet little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Lonny has an adoption fee of $885 & does not even come close to what we have spent on rescuing her & medically. She is now ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lonny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
