My story

Remember the last time you tried to assemble furniture and the instructions read like they’d been translated three times and back again? Bart is the canine equivalent of that. He’s a 2.5-year-old Dobie who looks like someone got halfway through the “Sleek Chocolate Dobermann” manual, set it down for a sanity break, then accidentally grabbed the “Farm Animal Starter Kit" instead. From the shoulders back, he’s flawless: smooth coat, regal stance, runway-model glide. But then things get… interesting. Instead of the noble snout, Bart’s got a pink bunny nose begging for boops. Instead of precision-tooled paws, he got feet from the Clydesdale section. The result? A dog who is both ridiculously elegant and elegantly ridiculous. He’ll strut across the room like a runway model, then trip over those magnificent hooves and land in your lap. And stay there. Because, let’s be honest, that was his plan all along. And Bart isn’t just fabulous to behold - he’s the kind of dog who makes a couch, a blanket, and a quiet afternoon feel like the good life. House-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and so polite you’ll wonder if he went to charm school, Bart is the goodest of boys. He loves everyone - kids, adults, other dogs - and he’s always ready to curl up and snuggle. And if you’ve never seen a regal Dobermann contentedly crunching carrots, bunny nose wiggling, well… it’s a sight you won’t forget. He's an affectionate, playful goof with an inquisitive nature and surprising love of fruits and veggies. So how does a dog like this - funny, gentle, almost perfect in his imperfection - end up alone in a shelter? Through no fault of his own. His person just didn’t have the time he deserves. Now Bart is waiting for someone who does. Someone with time for walks, time for carrots, time for laughter, and time for the affection he gives so freely.Animal Aid Society is at 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton. We’re open every day, weekends and holidays included, from 9am to noon. Come meet Bart - the kind of misassembled masterpiece you’ll never want to return.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bart, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
